Engine cover rips during Delta Airlines flight

Monday, May 9, 2016

Delta Airline flight 762 was forced into an emergency landing last Sunday as the aircraft suffered damages mid-flight. The plane in question was en route from Atlanta to Chicago when turbulence hit at approximately 30,000 feet. The engine cover (cowling) was ripped off, damaging the aircraft's main body in the process. The pilot was then forced to land the plane at Nashville airport. Over 100 passenger and crew on board remained without injuries, according to a statement by the airline. Investigations, as to the cause of the incident, are underway.

The incident occured merely a week after flight EY474 has left 31 passengers injured
