Cho Hyun-ah, the heiress of Korean Air, has had her jail sentence suspended. The daughter of the airline's chairman was sentenced to 10 months after disrupting a flight departing from JFK airport in New York last year.

According to a Seoul court, Cho was found guilty of violence against flight attendants after she orderd one of them off the aircraft. The chief attendant had offered her nuts she had not asked for. This was followed by a tantrum and a heated confrontation.

The upper court however, considered the fact that she is a mother of 2-year-old twins. Furthermore, she had never committed any offense in the past. Despite the suspension Cho faces heavy criticism from society and was forced to resign as an executive of the airline.
