Wind Jet almost bankrupt: budget airline halts flights
Saturday, August 11, 2012
Rome - Another low-cost carrier in trouble. Earlier this month, BMI Baby ceased its activities, and now Wind Jet is on the verge of bankruptcy. Last Sunday, Wind Jet cancelled all her flights. Alitalia showed interest in a buyout, but 'negotiations' terminated before an agreement was reached.
Since Friday, the continuation of Wind Jet is uncertain due to Alitalia's termination of the acquisition talks. Aviation Authority ENAC is expected to revoke the operating license of Wind Jet soon.
The cancellation of the flights will affect and victimize many passengers. ENAC has set up a crisis centre to help stranded passengers book transfer flights.
Have you booked a flight with Wind Jet? Please contact the ENAC to find out what will happen to your flight. If you are unsuccessful in obtaining a compensation for your cancelled flight, you can also choose to let Flight-delayed.co.uk handle your claim.
Wind Jet passengers stuck on Italian airport
Passengers already suffered from issues with Wind Jet today. A flight with destination Amsterdam was postponed multiple times and ended up being delayed by four hours. Passengers on this particular flight are entitled to financial compensation.
