The airline has changed my flight schedule, is it possible to receive compensation?
Hello, and thank you for your question. In accordance with European Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, you can be compensated for the modification of your flight schedule, but under certain conditions.
When did the airline notify you of the schedule changes?
You can claim compensation if the airline has notified you less than 14 days before the scheduled flight date. The circumstances to determine if you will be entitled to such compensation are as follows.
How long has your flight been advanced or delayed?
It depends on these conditions whether you are entitled to compensation due to the modification of your flight schedule:
You have been informed of the schedule change between fourteen and seven days before the time of departure and on your new flight schedule, the flight departs more than two hours before the scheduled time and/or lands more than four hours after the originally scheduled time of arrival.
You have been informed of the schedule change between seven days and the day of departure and on the new schedule, your flight departs more than one hour before the scheduled time and/or lands more than two hours after the originally scheduled time of arrival.
That's right, schedule modifications are treated as a flight cancellation. These are the amounts, determined by the distance of your flight, that you can receive as compensation, if they have modified your schedule as previously mentioned:
