Network and punctuality
Thomas Cook Airlines' route network, consisting of 34 airplanes, services a total of 72 different destination. While their fleet sounds quite small, they were still able to transport a whopping 6.6 million passengers in 2016. Additionally, the airlines has main bases at Manchester (MAN) and London Gatwick (LGW) airport. The company's punctuality tends to differ, with an arrival rate per hour of 71.01% in 2016.
Concerning Thomas Cook Airlines' somewhat unreliable schedule, like all airlines it does happen that a flight is delayed, cancelled or overbooked every once in a while. According to Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 an airline has to provide passengers with compensation if their flight is delayed for more than three hours, sporadically cancelled or overbooked. Depending on the exact circumstances, the compensation can range from £220.00 up to £528.00 per passenger. However, claiming this can at times be difficult as carriers try to avoid paying the compensation out.
