"The flight was scheduled for departure at 12:20 on January 3rd from CPH to IAD. We arrived at the check-in desk in CPH at 9.30 where we were told that the flight had been postponed for departure at 16.00. I received a delay info mail from my travel agency (Egencia) at 9.20 which was probably also at the same time when SAS announced the delay.
We were offered one meal voucher per person of 100 DKK.
At 13.20 the flight was again postponed from 16.00 to 18.30.
At 18.30 the flight was once again postponed to 22.00. We received another meal vaucher per person of 100 DKK.
At 22.30 the flight departed towards IAD (Washington Dulles) but we were not told the reason of the delay.
We arrived in IAD on January 4th around 1.30 local time (at night) and were of course not able to reach our connecting flight to YYZ (Toronto), which departed at 18.30 local time (UA6146). At CPH we were rebooked on an alternative flight leaving at 21.58 (UA6397) but given the arrival time we were not able to reach that one neither. Instead we were booked on a flight from IAD to YYZ on January 4th (UA6055) leaving at 8.05 with arrival 9.32 in YYZ.
Due to the delay from CPH the airline (SAS) had booked a hotel for us in Washington and arranged transportation to and from the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 3.00 (at night) and had to leave again at 6.00 in the morning in order to reach the flight to Toronto leaving at 8.05 (UA6055). However after having checked in our baggage and passed the security check we realized that also the United flight was delayed with 2 hours and 55 minutes due to technical issues with the aircraft. Since we had to leave the hotel at 6.00 in the morning we were not able to get the included breakfirst at the hotel, given they only serve breakfirst from 6.30 in the morning. At the airport we were not able to get in contact with a SAS representitive since no SAS personal was in the airport at that time, and United was also not willing or able to assit with any meal vouchers."
