Travel Hack: Cleanest Toilet

Friday, July 28, 2017

Going on holiday brings a lot of enjoyment with it. Weeks in advance you start planning exactly what it is that you want to see and do, let alone actually being there and relishing in the experience. This summer, take a break from your daily routine and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a different city. Not fully prepared yet? No worries, we’re here to help you get the most out of your holiday. With our helpful Travel Hacks, we want to assist you with making your trip as cheap, luxurious and relaxing as possible!

This time around we’re bringing you a Travel Hack of a completely different variety. For those who want to be as hygienic as possible, let us tell you which restrooms are the best to use. While people often assume that restrooms at airports are spotless, there’s still an order according to which stall is the cleanest. In order to avoid any unwanted surprises for your eyes, and more importantly your nose, let’s get you prepared with some science-based research!

That’s right, I said science! Studies show that the most hygienic toilet you can use is located in the middle stall. According to scientists, people have a tendency to choose the first stall because this is on the path of least resistance. As if your day wasn’t going to be long enough when travelling, why walk a couple of unnecessary extra meters, right? But this reason isn’t exactly correct either. If the first toilet is already occupied, people then prefer to take the last stall as this would give them some additional privacy. The, what is left is the immaculate middle stall. While you will have to hand over a bit of privacy, all is fair in love and germs.

We hope this Travel Hack makes your next visit to the airport restroom a tad more comfortable. Keep an eye on Flight-Delayed.co.uk as we’ll be rolling out other useful Travel Hacks over the upcoming weeks.
