Air mechanic on holiday repairs the plane he was supposed to fly home to Iceland with.

Davíð Aron Guðnason was on his way back to Iceland after a holiday in Spain with his family when he heard that the flight was to be delayed due to a technical malfunction. He decided to take matters into his own hands, repairing the aircraft within 30 minutes. “I spoke to the captain on board and he put me through to the airline’s head mechanic who’s based in Stockholm, Sweden. He told me that there was a problem with the plane’s starter valve – which is relatively easy to fix.” The plane arrived with only an hour later than scheduled saving passengers the trouble of an overnight delay.
