Home Alone reenacted by Belgian boy
Tuesday, February 12, 2013
Macaulay Culkin turned out to be a great source of inspiration for one Belgian boy. Twelve-year-old Nayal took an airplane all by himself last Thursday, much like the character Kevin McCallister from the 90's movie Home Alone. Even more peculiar is the fact that the boy was able to board the flight without a ticket or so much as a passport!Nayal was having some issues at school, and chose to take a Jetair flight from Brussels Airport to Malaga instead of facing his parents. It wasn't until arrival at Malaga airport that the boy was noticed by someone. The Guardia Civil found Nayal wandering around the airport, book bag in tow.
Meanwhile, his parents were worried sick after the boy failed to arrive home from school. Friends were called and a search party, consisting of friendly neighbours, scoured the Brussels city centre. Needless to say, this was to no avail.Brussels Airport immediately initiated an investigation into the matter. How the boy managed to bypass security checks despite of having no form of identification, no money and no ticket remains unclear. Spanish authorities have advised Nayal's parents to file a complaint (something we're very familiar with here at Flight-Delayed!) against Brussels Airport. 'Just imagine if he would have ended up in Africa or Asia. We might not ever have found him back,' the boy's uncle was stated as saying.
